The Acme Yacht Club ("the Club") is very committed to the privacy of its users. Below is a description of our privacy policy, detailing what information collected from you during your experience at this site and what is done with that information.

IP logging
This site automatically logs the IP address of each visitor. This information is used for diagnostic and statistical purposes. This information cannot be used to identify specific visitors.

Personally-identifiable information defined
"Personally-identifiable information" is information that can be matched with a person's identity, such as a user's address, personal interests, activities, spending habits, and significant relationships. Websites, companies, governments, or other organizations often collect "personally-identifiable information" to conduct business with individuals or households. The Club will inform users about its proposed use of personally-identifiable information collected at its website. The club's purposes for collecting personal information may include customer service, surveys, network management, billing, subscriptions and other exchanges of information. The Club will implement appropriate technical and security measures to prevent unauthorized or unlawful access to or accidental loss of, destruction, alteration or damage to your information.

Use of emailed information
The Club will use information received in email from current or potential customers and other individuals only for purposes reasonably related to the subject of the message.

Email
The Club will not send, nor allow others in its name to send, unsolicited email messages including, but not limited to, bulk commercial advertising and informational announcements. This provision may not apply to non-paying members.

Cookies
The Club may use cookies – pieces of information that are used for record-keeping – to save certain data about a user to facilitate a user's future activities. For example, the Club may save a user's name to facilitate the completion of a feedback form or forumsubmission. The Club will not, however, use cookies to retrieve a user's information that was not previously stored in a cookie by this site. Except as provided herein, the Club will not use information stored in a cookie for marketing purposes, and will not share such information with third parties.

Disclosure pursuant to legal process
The Club will permit access to all available and relevant information provided by users to comply with court orders and applicable laws, and to preserve and protect the Club's rights and property. Additionally, the Club may grant access to this information in emergencies if, in its sole discretion, the Club determines that the need is immediate, the information is relevant to the emergency, and the information cannot be readily obtained from another source.
